My advice to anyone visiting Canterbury is to visit Tiny Tim's as well. It's as 'Canterbury' and 'English' as the Cathedral and considerably more fun to spend time in!

Thanks Tiny, for your explanation
About the weekend situation
Sorry if we sounded flustered
But we love our cake and custard
Especially in old-time style
With clotted cream and camomile

We appreciate your customer concern
And you’ll be pleased to know – WE Shall Return!
We’re sure when you get in your stride
You & your staff will beam with pride
To run the finest House of Tea
In lovely dear old Canterbur-y

p.s.
We’re chuffed you put our poem up
For tea fans to read as they sup
Methinks we’ll have to pen some more
Stay tuned for rhymes and verse galore……….

Dear team, no poetry from me, just heatfelt thanks for great food and great service. Having waited so long to dine in your establishment during the daylight hours I have to say I was most impressed. The food was perfect for my guests and the price was perfect too. Normally you'll find me guiding fellow ghosthunters round your back-garden which by day is a tranquil and relaxing venue for me to conduct a business of a more mundane kind. Long may this continue, I hope for Canterbury needs something other than another noisy pub.
God bless you and the little children.

We stumbled upon a new Tea room that had just opened in Canterbury this weekend and we just wanted to say that we thought the place was enchanting. It is long overdue and a welcome addition to not just Canterbury but the whole of Kent. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was wonderful, I heartily recommend the soup and my husband enjoyed his Plump Pilgrim - a speciality unique to Tiny Tim's, apparently. Thank you for a marvellous time and we look forward to returning very soon.

Saturday morning, rise & shine
We wondered how to spend our time
We wanted somewhere calm and lovely
There was only one place that it could be

To read our papers through horn-rims
Yes you’ve guessed it, Tiny Tim’s!

A second visit – good on paper
But where oh where oh where’s our waiter?
We sat for a full quarter hour
Unattended, reluctant wallflowers

The couple at the table yonder
Had been waiting even longer
Their drinks requested afore we sat
But ne’er to arrive, what d’you think of that?

We left the tea rooms unimpressed
To seek refreshment in M & S!!

A little warning – word of mouth
Could see your business going south!
Don’t get us wrong, we love it there
But others may not be so fair

So let’s not slack
Cos we’ll be back
To Tiny T’s another day
After which we hope we can say
The service was exemplary
And it’s our favourite place for tea!

Dear Tiny Tim's Tearoom Guests (I apologise for my lack of poetic response),
Oh dear oh dear- your first poem was so endearing that we printed it out and stuck it on our notice board. We are dissapointed that your second visit did not delight you as much. I hope that if I offer you an explanation you may forgive us and return for a more pleasant trip. Our first Saturday caught us completely off guard, we confess. We never in our wildest dreams had hoped, that after only two days of being open, we would be as busy as we were with queues out of our door. We had hired the number of staff we thought would be able to cover our expected number of customers. Our very young, and nervously new staff members coped admirably with what was a torrent of curious visitors who we were anxious to please, but seriously ill equipt to do so. We are a new business, run by a family who have never been in the catering trade before and who want to give Canterbury a wonderful place to take tea and cake. We are forever learning and as we take our first break on Monday will reassess our staffing, and our customer response. We are very proud of how our staff and our family have coped, and will do our utmost to keep raising our standards and service... but please bear with us for a little while longer as we find our feet, we are new at this and we want nothing more than to do our best for our customers. With warm wishes, Tiny Tim
